The name was then changed to Cathy's Little Secret do to an injunction. The case was appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, and the court ruled in Victor's favor. This happened almost 4 years ago. The ruling was for total reversal of the lower courts decision, and the case must go back down through the court system to be reversed. My question is why is the case still stuck in the sixth circuit court? It has been almost 4 years. Victor is unable to change the name of the store back because of the injunction from the lower courts. The entire 2nd amendment is not on trial at the Supreme Court - only the right of a city/state/municipality to put restrictions on the right. Admittedly, if the court rules in favor of DC's law, then it will have a spiral effect that could lead to other future rulings against the 2nd amendment. If the court rules in favor of Washington DC's argument, then any state will be able to put any firearms related restriction laws on the books, and there isn't much that can be done about it. However, it would still be up to individual states to set their own firearms laws, unless the US Congress/Senate passes some sweeping gun ban law in the future.
